Yusenkaku is a mountain inn hidden away deep in a wooded valley. The drive to Yusenkaku is a beautiful trip in itself with a winding road threading its way through the mountains. The hotel is a long wooden framed building offering simple, homely Japanese style rooms on the banks of the river. The area is well known for its onsen and Yusenkaku have indoor and outdoor onsen. It is also possible to enjoy the hot spring water in pools in the nearby river for the most natural onsen you will ever experience. This is a true rural Japanese accommodation experience and the gift shop is packed with bounty harversted from the surrounding mountains.
