About “GALA Yuzawa Ski Resort”
GALA Yuzawa has its own bullet train station right at the base of the resort. Step off the train, pick up your pass and gear and you're ready to go! In 1990, the national rail company 'Japan Railway' [JR], charmed by the area and sensing its potential for becoming a world-class resort town, built the second bullet train station 'Gala Yuzawa' in Yuzawa town. This has since become an image and oft-quoted symbol of the Japan skiing experience. Since the 2011-12 season the south area has been re-opened which has made Gala a huge resort boasting 17 trails. This resort is also connected to Yuzawa Kogen and Ishiuchi Maruyama Ski Resort.
